The time has finally come! The long-awaited President’s Week that will finally give students the opportunity to relax and take some time off from stressfull school work.  While some highschoolers across the nation have barely realized how close break is, others have been counting down the days in anticipation. Here are some ways to effectively spend your break without wasting precious opportunities:

Hit the Books!

What a better opportunity to review old class material or get help with that math lesson you never really understood! Or how about getting a head start on that book report your English teacher assigned? Most students procrastinate till the last minute to get homework done over break. Effective students will get their assignments done early in order to ensure as much relaxation time as possible.

Catch Up with Friends!

That’s what break is really all about, right? Spending time with the people you love the most. Without parents constantly nagging you to finish homework, no tests to worry about, or even deans to run away from during Tardy Sweeps, break is the perfect time to hang out with your friends. There are plenty of movies to see, concerts to watch, and memories to be made during this rare time off from school.

Get Some Zzz’s!

That’s right, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. Get some sleep! As teenagers, many of us are convinced that we will have all the time in the world to relax this break. (Virtually impossible while juggling any school work and a busy social life)  Although most teens wont hesitate to hit their snooze buttons in the mornings, staying out till 4 AM the night before or partying 24/7 wont exactly help you to feel refreshed once school starts back up again. Try to ease your mind by taking frequent naps, reading a book or two, or even enjoying a bubble bath every now and then over break. After all, nothing is worse than Monday Morning Blues after a stress-free week!

While you’re out having a blast this break, remember these 3 key factors. In order to come back to school prepared, you have to find the perfect balance of work, fun, and rest during your mini vacation. Make President’s Week a week to remember!
