Spirit Week

This past week Del Mar had its second spirit week of the school year. Although being the week before winter break, this spirit week didn’t start off too well.
Monday kicked it off with Magical Monday. Students dressed up as magical as they could. Everything from Harry Potter to fairies were seen. However, few students dressed up. The next day, Tie Dye Tuesday, students wore anything with tie dye on it. More students dressed up for this, but it was still not a lot. Wednesday was Workout Wednesday. Students wore their workout gear. Some dressed the ’80′s way with off-the-shoulder tops and legwarmers. Others dressed in standard workout clothes wearing things like basketball shorts and yoga pants. Luckily, many students were spirited enough to dress up for this day. Thursday was Throwback Thursday. Students were able to dress up from any past decade except for the 21st century. Friday was the classic “Class Color Day” and the rally. This day had the most spirit with most students wearing their class color. Freshmen wore orange, Sophomores wore yellow, Juniors wore green, and Seniors wore purple.
Overall, this spirit week was surprisingly low-spirited; especially in comparison to the earlier Superhero Homecoming spirit week. Hopefully next spirit week Del Mar can bring loads more spirit, like they typically do.
