Leopoldo Macaya
Leopoldo also called as jon jon or J2 - is a young, ambitious photographer that works for 2 company’s as a photographer/videographer and also plays Varsity on the high school basketball team. This is his second year in Journalism, and is also the lead photo editor for the Del Mar Perspective. He is very excited to publish multiple galleries of photos of student life this year. He hopes that this year’s edition of the Perspective is the best yet.

Samantha Fatai
Samantha, also known as Sam, is Polynesian and proud. She is just moved from New Zeland to the States with her family a year ago. She first attended Santa Clara High School for her Junior year, but transferred to Del Mar for her last year as a Senior. Sam loves to sing, plays sports, and loves to live life to the fullest. She’s very shy at first but when she opens up, she’s very loud and outgoing. Lastly, she likes making new friends, so don’t be afraid to say hi!

Kevin Collins
Kevin is a Senior at Del Mar High School and this is his first year a part of the Perspective. He is hoping he can contribute as much as possible in order to help the Perspective flourish. Aside from school, he plays football for Del Mar and loves hanging out with his friends. In the future, he hopes to accomplish great things and wants to make a difference in the world as a doctor.

Susannah Lonac
Susannah is Senior class president at Del Mar. With her young appearance, she is often mistaken as an underclassmen, but is a proud member of the class of 2012. She is on the girls tennis team and enjoys dancing. Susannah works as a master swirler at Willow Glen Frozen Yogurt. She enjoys sipping Coca-Cola and shopping. Susannah looks forward to her first year on The Perspective.

Mrs. Melanie Gomez
Mrs. Gomez has been working for Campbell Union High School District since August of 2006 and has always been a hardworking member of the Del Mar facutly. She is a dedicated Enlgish teacher and considers herself a life-long learner. She is very excited about the launch of “The Del Mar Perspective” online newspaper and the incorporation of more technology into the journalism course which she has been advising since the 07-08 school year.

Emmeline Geyer
Emmeline has been a member of The Del Mar Perspective since the 09-10 school year when she was a sophomore. This year she takes on the responsibility of Editor in Chief as well as the new online newspaper forum. She is excited about the new challenges ahead and her senior year at Del Mar. In her free time she takes ballet and other dance classes at a local studio in downtown Campbell. She also enjoys hanging out with her friends, and traveling around the world. Emmeline hopes to study history in college and become an archaeologist.

Zach Pollard
Zach is the Vice President of the Senior class, and the News Editor for the 2011-2012 edition of the Del Mar Perspective. He plays of the varsity baseball team at Del Mar, and works at Willow Glen Frozen Yourt Co. In his spare time, Zach is an aspiring young yoyoer, and is an advocate for Young Money Cash Money Records. He is often asked for his autograph on the streets, and is expected to acheive greatness by many.
