The Muppet’s, directed by James Bobin, is a fun-loving movie about the iconic puppets from the 80′s. The film centers around two brothers, Gary (Jason Segel) a human, and Walter (Peter Linz) a Muppet. Both brothers live in a town known as Smalltown where Walter had been picked on all his childhood for his muppet body. In his search for a chance to fit in he encounters the old Muppet television show where he finds inspiration, and as a result he idolizes the Muppets. Gary takes his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) to Los Angles for their tenth year of dating anniversary, and decides to let Walter accompany them so he could see the muppet studio. While there, Walter overhears an evil oil baron, Tex Richman (Chris Cooper), and his plot to tear down the old Muppet studio to drill for oil unless the Muppet’s can raise $10 million dollars to buy back the studio. Gary, Mary, and Walter decide to seek the Muppets help in order to stop Tex from destroying the studio. The Muppets is an incredibly funny movie; using the same type of humor found in previous Muppet’s films and the iconic television show, along with new humor that all ages will enjoy. All of the old gang of Muppets is in the movie, from Kermit and Miss Piggy, to Fozzie Bear and Gonzo. Without breaking tradition of other Muppet films, it has musical numbers that sound amazing with the help of excellently casted actors and actresses. The film also contains an enormous number of guest stars such as Jack Black, Neil Patrick Harris, and Selena Gomez. The film is well acted and gives out a heartwarming message to follow your dreams and that everyone could use a good laugh once in a while. The Muppets earn a well deserved 5 star rating out of a possible 5.
